About Crabby Cravings

My name is Rachel and I run Crabby Cravings. I am passionate about hermit crabs and promoting their proper care so in early 2013 I opened Crabby Cravings with the aim of helping provide good quality safe foods and products. Since opening the store I have connected even more with fellow keepers, written care guides and information sheets and been published in Practical Reptile Keeping magazine on hermit crab care.

Some of the products are locally sourced from other small businesses, and most are from completely organic food suppliers. Our seasonal range boasts hand grown or gathered and naturally dried produce that can be harder to find in stores.
Most of our hermit crab foods are dried to provide long lasting taste and nutrition, and are offered starting at fairly small sizes that can be expanded on as needed to cut down on wasted food for those with smaller colonies. All foods are checked for suitability before stock is brought in, and if any are not up to the hermit crab safe standard or not good enough for us to feed my own crabs happily with they won't appear. The store is commercial food free to avoid preservatives and encourage the varied diet hermit crabs thrive best on.

Our hermit crab shell shop offers the chance to select your own specific shells, instead of a rough size and whatever the seller sends. I check, photograph, measure and list each shell individually to give the best chance at finding the perfect ones for your crabs.

We have seeds of various types to help promote home grown hermit crab foods and add even more fresh ingredients to their diets. A lot of our seeds are tortoise safe foods and suitable for other animals too.

Where possible we use recycled postal packaging to help cut down on waste and the shop's environmental impact.
If there is something you want but don't see, you would like smaller amounts, or want to order some samples to try, feel free to get in touch. I answer all emails as soon as possible and requests will be accommodated to the best of my ability. Simply head to the contact us page and fill out the form or email from your own provider.
