Packaging Information

It is important to us that our customers know exactly what to expect from every aspect of their purchase, and have confidence that their orders will be shipped safely. Here you will find information on how each type of product is packaged for shipping, as well as a guide to our labelling. As always if you have any questions feel free to get in touch!

Labelling

All Crabby Cravings foods come labelled to fully meet pet food packaging legislation.

 Why "Complementary Hermit Crab Diet"?

If a food is not manufactured to provide a complete diet then it is required that it is stated on the packaging. Due to the huge variety needed to keep hermit crabs both happy and healthy, and the fact that they biologically are "set" to only eat a food for so long before searching out another, we feel that providing a lone food no matter how many ingredients are included is not sufficient and thus all of our foods are labelled as complementary. Variety and high quality is key to the ongoing good health of the crabs, and that is what we strive to offer at all times.

Best Before End

This is the recommended date by which products should be used, after there may begin to be some loss of texture, flavour or nutrition and use is at the discretion of the customer. Any foods that must be used within a certain time will state use by, otherwise they will still be edible when the best before is reached.

There is an address on the labels, do you have a store we can visit?

Legally we have to provide the business address on all pet food packaging, unfortunately we are a from home business and do not have a store open to visitors. If you wish to discuss anything with us we are always happy to help and are easily reached via email at crabbycravings@gmx.com or the contact us form on our site.

Do I need to think about batch codes?

As with store bought human foods the batch codes are for our reference.

Can I eat this?

Although the majority of our products are sourced from organic human grade suppliers they are not sold for human consumption and we are not licensed to sell for that purpose and may have other things added for the crabs, so no matter how tasty it may look or smell please do not eat them!
