About Our Products
Crabby Cravings boasts a wide range of products that is constantly being expanded. Our own brand includes single ingredient foods, our own recipe mixes and our own homemade tasty popcorns. We also stock Natures Grub brand dried protein sources, tasty treats straight from the beach, homemade hides, equipment, seeds and giftwares. Our charity fundraising is also a year round event, and every Christmas the proceeds from those items sold will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital!
Crabby Cravings Brand
The Crabby Cravings brand products encompass a range of different tasty, natural foods, free from chemicals and preservatives, usually from organic suppliers and all full of the natural goodness your crabs need. Some of our foods are homegrown or ethically harvested direct from nature, and all are tried and tested with our various hermit crab species.
Single Products
Our line of single products are all chosen for their quality, nutrition, suitability and variety. We use only the finest suppliers and sources, the majority of which are human grade, and never allow products that do not meet our high standards to be sold. Offering a very varied diet not only helps prevent your crabs getting bored, it also helps keep them healthy, so keeping a good range available for our customers is very important to us.
Mixes
Every mix in our store is our own tried and tested recipie, using only the finest ingredients (many of which are stocked in the store individually), created to both tempt even the fussiest crab and offer a good range of nutrition. Meant for use as part of a varied diet, maybe are aimed at enhancing carapace colour and more will be added as time goes on.
Crabby Cookies
Crabby Cookies are our own special range of homemade crab healthy cookies. Made using my own recipe, no chemicals, flour or unhealthy ingredients are used. Not only are the ingredients crab safe, they are also GOOD for your crabs, meaning that guilty pleasure is not so guilty after all!
Popcorns
Organic, unseasoned popcorn kernels are popped by hand with nothing added and allowed to cool. We then carefully shred, powder or otherwise prepare the seasonings and hand coat each piece. Every seasoning is chosen to add nutritional value to this treat, a long standing favourite with land hermit crabs. I have yet to encounter a crab that could resist some popcorn, and our range allows you to offer some that is both safe and healthy!
Seasonal
Our seasonal products are either home grown or harvested from safe, chemical free sources in an ethical manner. Products like colour enhancing dried flowers, iron rich seaweed, natural barks and dandelion root often feature either alone or as part of mixes. These items are often limited stock so get them while you can!
Holiday Items
Many of us love them, others dread, but the holiday seasons are a time that a lot of people like to treat themselves and loved ones. We will near the times bring out some special holiday products for crabs and owners, unique to us and full of fun!
Natures Grub
Due to legislation around the repackaging and production of foods containing animal and insect parts we cannot bring these to you under our own brand as a home based business. HOWEVER we can, and proudly do, stock incredibly high quality products from Natures Grub.
Natures Grub are a reliable supplier of only the best products, and we bring you from their range tubs of dried, flavour rich protein sources at excellent prices. We will be adding more to the shop as time goes on, and the stackable tubs mean you can conviniently keep a wide range then reuse the tubs for other purposes!
Shells
Beachcomber's Treasures
The Beachcomber's Treasures section of the store is where we sell our ethical, sustainably gather beach items such as finger sponges, natural corals, pinecones, crab carapace and whelk egg cases.
Many of these are for use as food items but they also double as great enrichment and decoration that add a feeling of natural home to any crabitat.
The sponges are not for use in water dishes.
Unlike the majority of stores worldwide, we take the time to photograph and list each of our shells individually so our customers can select the exact shells from our range that they want. Shells are checked for holes, cleaned and occasionally polished with natural crab safe oil.
We try to bring in a variety of shells, including the standard favourites like turbos, more unusual shapes and species including those favoured by violas, shells purely for decoration and others suited for use as dishes.
Our shell opening measurements are demonstrated via picture on listings.
Shells are packaged well with lots of bubblewrap and depending on size cardboard, carrier bag strips or other packaging.
We stock some handmade items for use inside the crabitat, such as coconut hides. This is partly due to the fact it allows us to offer lower prices for our customers compared to if we buy in commerically made stock, and also partly because we feel that handmade items have more "charm". An added bonus to this is that a range of sizes and shapes can be offered due to natural variations in the coconuts we buy, and no part of them is wasted.
No paints, varnishes or potentially harmful products are used. Any products with silicone will use well cured aquarium safe brands.

Handmade Products
Small starter colonies of captive bred woodlice are available occasionally for use as a "cleanup crew" in tanks. They help to eat and break down any missed food scraps and crab waste, and also double as a high calcium snack for the crabs when they pass away.
All woodlice are bred ourselves on oak leaves, worm castings and organic food scraps. Shipping is at the customers risk, we will do our best to make sure they will be ok. We will only dispatch orders containing these on Mondays or Tuesdays to help minimise the risk of weekends stuck in transit unless we have obtained the customers consent before dispatch.

Our other supply ranges come from a variety of suppliers and include products like substrates, bowls, decorations, thermometers and moss.
We will never stock the "dial" humidity and temperature gauges as they are very prone to faults and innaccuracies, we will also never stock painted shells, calcium sand or any other products that can cause harm.
Our giftware section feature thmed jewelry, cards and other gifts, including our own design magnets.
